Announced at lunchtime today (Friday 25th September) by the Welsh Government, new restrictions have been introduced in the Llanelli area from 6pm on Saturday 26th September (as well as Swansea and Cardiff from 6pm on Sunday 27th September) to reduce the spread of the virus.
As a result of today's news, this means that Carmarthen Harriers will be unable to train or use the facilities at Parc Y Scarlets (Pemberton) in Llanelli as we have been doing for organised club training by arrangement since the middle of July when these activities could re-start.
Carmarthen Leisure Centre Athletics Track remains out of use at the present time as refurbishment works continue, which means that alternative venues will need to be used.
Coaches (sprints, endurance, and field) will be in touch with their athletes who have re-started small group training over the past eight weeks to make those alternative arrangements including location, date and time for the foreseeable future.
Outdoor gatherings of 30 people and the safety measures remains in place and the club continues to follow guidance received from Welsh Athletics and UKA Athletics.
