Two Ceredigion club athletes Beca Roberts and Lili Church have been recognised for their contributions so far to Dyfed Schools Athletics over several years.

Dyfed Schools Athletic Association at its AGM in November 2015 decided to set up an annual Glyn Davies award in memory of Glyn who had been treasurer of Dyfed Schools AA for 16 years. He was remembered for his support of Dyfed schools teams at the Welsh schools cross country and athletic championships and in particular standing at the entrance to the Carmarthen Athletics Track collecting the gate money at Dyfed competitions.

The Glyn Davies Award is to be awarded annually to the Dyfed school athlete/s who has contributed most to Dyfed schools in athletics or cross country in that year.

Dyfed Schools (all schools & colleges) were invited to nominate an athletes who in their view contributed most to the success of Dyfed schools in 2017 (athletics, cross country or sportshall athletics).

As a 13 year old, Lili's noticeable key achievements over the last couple of months includes her two international appearances for Wales in the SIAB (schools international) in the U17 age groups in the high jump and the Celtic Games also in the High Jump which she competed as an U16 and finished a creditable second. She's also the Welsh schools high jump champion as well as securing many other event titles on the track at club and school level.

14 year old, Beca only started combined events in April 2017 and has already come a long way...finishing in bronze position at the Welsh schools combined championships before going on better at the British event in SportCity Manchester during the summer. To add to her success, she recently was selected to represent Welsh Schools at the Combined Events International in Glasgow after her string of fine performances at the Welsh competition during October.

The Aberaeron & Bro Pedr committed duo, who attend training regularly down in Carmarthen and are both coached by Dorrien Thomas, picked up their joint award at the Carmarthen Harriers Annual Dinner Awards Evening held at the Ivy Bush Royal Hotel on the 3rd of November.

Deserving winners of this year's award...Llongyfarchiadau i'r ddau! Congratulations to both! Keep up the good work!
