With the popular numbers of runners and schools, there were once again big queues and traffic delays entering the Showground off the A40, with reports of tailbacks as far back as the B&Q Roundabout at one stage. The first of the eight races started at 4.30pm and the presentation of the 128 medals were made at 5.55pm.

The championships this year was sponsored by the Freemasons of West Wales and McDonalds Carmarthen, organised by Carmarthen Harriers with support from Pembrokeshire Harriers.
